Off the Fords of Beruna in the gently swaying forest a beautiful Naiad named Laele put an unclothed foot forward into the dazzling snow. It crushed underneath making a pleasant sound. What a beautiful day, the sun is shining its brightest, birds in the air... Too bad a can't make a stream at this time of year, it would simply freeze up... Her thoughts drifted off through her mind when suddenly her attention brought abruptly back. Her shimmering black eyes searched through the trees looking for the source of the sound she had heard only seconds before. "Who's there!" She called in a voice the sound of spring brooks over colorful rocks.

Arnel looked at her "Naiad," he bowed low to her "Daughter of the Water god I am Arnel dryad son," he smiled at her "That means I was fostered by the dryads," his voice was fruity and it was clear the handsomeness of the drayds and worn off him leaving him with smooth angled features

Laele eyed the man carefully searching for a weapon even though a meer blade can not take the life of one of the River God's daughters. She did not feel as thoguh he meant her harm so she replied, "I am Laele, and am pleased to meet you Arnel, son of Adam. What has you venturing through this wood?"

"I come here to visit my elders," he smiled it wa snot what you would call a strained smile it seemed to grace his face then leave quickly before it was noticed "You are a beautiful Naiad," he smiled he offered a hand to the wind he whispered a few words and a dryad came forth "Hello Arnel what can I do for you today," the smiling dryad asked "Nothing I need to ask you have you seen or heard any of the white witches servants come round here lately,"

The Naiad accepted the compliment, of course she was beautiful, she was born of Aslan's song, it itself so beautiful and filled with power. She watched thoughtfully as Arnel drew the Dryad forth from the trees, she was suprised at this, the few that attempted it had never been able to draw one so quickly, if ever at all. "The White Witch has not passed through this Valley. I would not allow it. Streams of my father's raging water are possitioned to ensure that this Witch shall never pass. And if she has, then this son of Trees can show me to her, and I will make sure that she drowns." Laele said venomously. The White Witch was all that she opposed, she with her wand of ice and stone, that could freeze human, animal and water with a swift sweep. Her usually soft face showed a frown at the very thought of that wretched woman.

Arnel looked at her anger "There is no need to be angered my friend I to despise what the witch did," this was followed by an arkward silence that the dryad spoke "No I have seen no servants of the witch Arnel dryadson is there anything else I can do to help you," it asked it seemed concerned Arnels past was never anything to be proud of or to look back on Arnel shook his head "No my dear friend there isn't anything else," the dryad nodded and left Arnel looked Laele "The reason I can draw Dryads quickly from the trees is because of the fact I was brought up as a dryad and they know me very well," his face showed slight forboding this was broken with just one tear it rolled down his cheek then disappeared "I bid you farewell Naiad may I see you again some time,"
