Mikaila the lioness slowly turned her head toward the river, looking at her ever-moving reflection. She sun shone brightly and gave the water a glittering look. She drank deeply, breking her image, then looked up and across the rolling green meadows. No one allied with Aslan seemed to be there, but no one with the White Witch would dare attack her in this beautiful, serene place. It didn't matter who was there, and she didn't care. She just wanted to relax on this beautiful day.

As the lioness gazed across the green hills, she suddenly saw a golden form striding through the tall green grass, almost as if the sunlight was dancing within the meadow. As the figure drew closer, she could see that it was a great Lion, standing taller than she. He approached silently, his large paws making no sound in the grass.
"Mikaila, my daughter," His voice was rich and soft. "The peace you feel in Narnia will soon be threatened. A shadow lurks at the edges of this land. I have a task for you, if you have the courage to accept."

"I do, sir Aslan." Mikaila responded. "What is my quest to be? Raid the Witch's castle? Find a missing Narnian? I will do anything for the good of all kinds." Mikaila bowed low.

"It is your guidance and clear mind that is needed," He said quietly with a smile. "Your strength you will need also. High King Peter and his siblings stand in need of advisors, ones who can stand by their sides in all events and give guidance." Aslan gazed at her with his depthless eyes. "Can you do this, my daughter?"

"I can," Mikaila bowed her head in respect. "I will do whatever I need to do, if it means the safety of all Narnians."

Oskan padded slowly through the valley. His head was low and his eyes narrowed in thought. What is my destiny? He asked himself. All living things have a destiny, right? He raised his head and his eyes suddenly light up. He had not seen Aslan just yet because there was a slope. "Mikaila!" He barked. The lioness he had just called had been his first friend and he wondered what she was doing out here. The young ebony wolf pelted over to her. But Oskan skidded to a hault at the sight of Aslan. "I-I'm sorry.." He looked behind his shoulder quickly and took a step back. "I-I did not mean to interupt...I'll leave." Oskan turned around and looked in the opposite direction, waiting to eather be excused or told to stay.

"I think you will be alright," Mikaila whispered. "Just do not show shame. Hold your head high and praise your name."

Oskan nodded and sat down. His silver gaze sweapt the two familiar faces, but he kept quiet and listened.

Aslan's expression was calm and welcoming as he turned his great head to face the black wolf. "Oskan, son of Narnia. Do not be afraid, nor ashamed. I have spoken with Mikaila," He gave her a nod. "But I also wish to speak with you as well." His gentle yet majestic gaze swept over both creatures. "The White Witch grows stronger and more daring. The four rulers of Cair Paravel stand in need of allies, ones that can be of great worth to them. Oskan, you are quick and cunning, and have a paw in the Witch's shadow. I have a task for you, if you are willing to bear it."

Oskan nodded and looked into the eyes of the great lion. "Yes Aslan. I am willing...What is it you have in mind?" He asked quietly. But in truth he was greatly scared. He had hated it in the Realm of Eternal Winter. But he did not want to let down Aslan. He just hoped Aslan did not sense his anxiety, nor Mikaila.
