[[Well then...]]
Father Christmas nodded as Edmund spoke. "She has not returned. But she lives. In the farthest reaches of the North is her kingdom. It knows not happiness, and joy. But only sorrow and winter. I was not allowed in."
The old man was quiet as he looked to Peter, who had returned with Mr Fox.

Edmund looked up, anxious to learn of what Peter had heard. The news from Father Christmas had disturbed him already, but he only expected worse from the fox. Quietly he whispered in the High King's ear. "Peter? What was it that Mr. Fox had to say? Father Christmas just told me some rather disturbing news..."
Fundin cleared his throat and approached the two Kings and Father Christmas. "My lords, I have very grave news." He said in a quiet whisper. "I hate to bring this up during this splendid feast, but there have been ogre spottings out west in the Lantern Waste. I myself can say that I've seen a group of hags sneaking their way through the wood. I fear something is amiss in Narnia...."

Peter's face was stern as he nodded. "I propose that after dinner we hold council and decide what must be done. But for now, let's do justice to this wonderful dinner." He sat down at the head of the table. "Father Christmas, would you please say grace for us?"

Lucy squirmed with excitement. SHe looked anxiously to the Father, remembering when she first met him at the lake, and he had given her the Fireflower cordial, which she kept in the treasure room. The grave news disturbed her, but she still wanted to enjoy dinner. Not much could reck the dinner.

Father Christmas smiled and nodded. He was putting on a show. His true countenance was of worry. Ogres and Hags in Narnia, again? The Witch was on the move.
"Let us be thankful for that which we are about to receive. Allow us to use these gifts to strengthen our mortal bodies. Amen."
